According to TMZ, last week Friday, Kanye West sued his former label, Rocafella Records over unpaid monies he is owed while at the label. He signed with the label in the early 2000s, but the label went downhill after Jay Z (a co-founder with Damon Dash, and Kareem "Biggs" Burke) sold his stake in the label and parted ways with his former partners.
Kanye is also suing EMI, a label he was signed to in 2003 while he was on Rocafella Records. He claims he was part of a team of song writers who wrote over 200 songs for label, and according to him, he hasn't been properly compensated for services rendered.
More details on this in the coming weeks.
